About the Project

This project focused on developing and testing a brief adapted version of an Episodic Future Thinking intervention called Elongating Time Horizons for Reentry (ETHoR). It examined the implementation potential and preliminary effectiveness of peer recovery specialist-delivering ETHoR to improve decision-making among returning citizens during the re-entry period. It evaluated whether receiving ETHoR would result in increased SUD treatment, retention, and motivation, and if it would reduce substance misuse among participants to leverage successful reentry among individuals with SUD.
